Installing a printer on a Windows ARM PC

Check what kind of Windows PC you have

Open Settings → System → About and read System type under Device specifications. Microsoft identifies ARM devices there as using an ARM-based processor. Windows version and processor architecture are different facts: two PCs can both run Windows 11 and require different drivers.

Try Windows’ own installation path

Microsoft documents that some manufacturer installers cannot add printers on ARM PCs. Its recommended alternative is the Windows Add or install a printer flow, unless the manufacturer gives different guidance for the model.

1. Turn the printer on and connect USB or a reachable network as its instructions require.
2. Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners → Add device.
3. After installation, check Windows Update and print a test page. Then check any required scanning or finishing features separately.

If a manufacturer package is still needed

Look for explicit ARM64 support on the manufacturer’s release page. A successfully launched x64 application does not establish that its driver can load on ARM. Do not substitute a 32-bit or x64 driver because the model number matches.

If no supported path is listed

Ask the manufacturer whether your model and connection type work on ARM. If no supported method is available, use a computer and operating system listed for the printer.
